We commonly think of tea as a hot beverage. Over the years, there have been a lot of variants invented for various purposes. The concept of tea started in the 14th–17th centuries. Tea can help you lose some fat when you pair it up with diet and exercise. One of them is green tea, which is popularly known for promoting weight loss. According to the statistics, about 1,200 Taiwanese men and women were found to have a lower percentage of body fat if they drank green tea for more than 10 years. 1.Green Tea

Green tea is one of the most famous tea variants for weight loss and weight management. There is one special ingredient in green tea called EGCG that helps with weight loss. Green tea consumed with these specific 80–300 milligrams is only effective for weight loss. Green,black and oolong tea come from the same plant but they are prepared differently. All the famous varities of green tea were developed in the 14-17th century.

2.Black Tea

China is known as the birthplace of black tea in the 17th century. There were tea, fruits, flowers, and oils that were blended with black tea to add aroma and taste. The flavours are considered unique to black tea. According to many reports, black tea has a positive impact on the heart. Other teas in this family, including Pu-erh and oolong, have positive health effects.

3.White Tea

White tea was discovered during the Song Dynasty when only royals were allowed to have it. White tea was also popular and had the same taste as Japanese matcha, which was served in ceramic bowls. Modern-day white tea is quite popular, and the ingredients are very minimal. White tea acts as an antioxidant inside the body, which protects the cells. It also has a surprising element that can prevent cancer.

4.Oolong Tea

Oolong tea is unique and has a taste between green tea and black tea. The leaves of Oolong tea could be classified as complex and varied. Oolong tea helps fight diabetes. Chinese Oolong tea is very complicated to make, as the process takes a lot of time. The process of making oolong tea differs from region to region. The longer the steeping time of the tea, the higher the caffeine content.


As tea started spreading around the world, there were varieties that we came across too. Tea was imported to India through the silk route and spread across the states. Green, black, white, and Oolong teas have their own benefits, and the preparation of their processes is different. Green tea is one of the most popular beverages for weight loss, and if followed consistently, you can lose weight.
